The Cavalry has arrived!

I thought they couldn't come any better than Judge Roberts, but perhaps they can. Samuel Alito is an extremely qualified individual, and I am very happy that a true 'Originalist' is being nominated for the Supreme Court. This is what the founders wanted. Hamilton and Madison must be smiling from above. Judge Samuel Alito meets every standard that the founders intended for a Judicial nominee. Not only is CNN bashing this guy, but the mainstream media as a whole. This is going to be a time where liberals are going to voice their opposition, much like conservatives did with Miers. We will truly hear the voice of the Democrat party, and I think Americans need to hear it to make an informed decision.

Harry Reid after hearing the news: "I'm disappointed." Amazing isn't it? When Miers was appointed, Reid said, "I wanted her to have the opportunity to have a hearing..." Why don't you feel the same way, Senator? Any Supreme Court Nominee Harry Reid or Ted Kennedy oppose must be extremely qualified. I love it when the Republican Party does something so bold as to adhere to the founders advice, that Democrats wake up angry every morning. I want them angry, I want them to realize that the majority of this country opposes them on every issue. I hope issues such as "privacy" get overturned with a New Supreme Court. Things that aren't in the Constitution shouldn't be interpreted to be in there. I'll be posting more about this in the days to come. Right now I am watching with glee as Democrats embarrass themselves.

Hope Resurrected...

Harriet Miers has withdrawn her nomination based on reasons of protecting the records or materials of the Executive Branch. These documents are legally protected, and no nominee should be forced to disclose them. However, I don't believe she withdrew for the reason listed above. She withdrew because she realized she wasn't qualified. She realized this after true patriots demanded her withdrawal. I am very proud that the conservative majority of this nation were looking out for their Constitution, a wonderful document. This is one of the proudest moments in American history.

The President has a great opportunity, not to unite the country, but to preserve the original intent of the Constitution by nominating an Originalist. Thank you Harriet, and thank you Mr. President. I look forward to the day when the Supreme Court of these United States returns to what it was ordained to do.

Fall at the White House

A ticked off conservative base, an angry media, and liberal protestors galore. You guessed it, it's fall in Washington. Freedom is a beautiful thing!

"The freedom and happiness of man...are the sole objects of all legitimate government." - Thomas Jefferson, 1810.

Patriotism...

"Guard against the impostures of pretended patriotism"
(George Washington, Farewell Address).

"A republic, by which I mean a government in which the scheme of representation takes place, opens a different prospect and promises the cure for which we are seeking" (James Madison, 1790).

Socialism never cured anything, and never will. We hear God-forsaken liberals expressing their hatred against our military. We hear them spewing hatred against private property rights, and against our republican form of government. I can take no more. Patriots fought and died for this country and are still doing it. Patriots defend the Constitution by respecting private property rights, and respecting republicanism.

Now I know that some will say that there are liberal servicemen and women fighting and dying for this country. To them I say this: Those bastards didn't fight for me, because they don't fully respect our Constitution, and form of government. The men and women who are fighting and who have died for me are the Patriots that gladly defend our Republic and spread freedom, not socialism, across the globe.

Save Our Republic...

"The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
(Constitution of the United States)

Anyone who is a member of the Democratic Progressive Voters League, a socialist group, does not pass "Constitutional mustard." Save this Republic, oppose Harriet Miers!

Miers: A regular John Kerry

I have recently discovered some Harriet Miers statements that contradict her previous statements and also make her look far less qualified. According to the Drudge Report, "not only did Harriet Miers testify that she would not join the 'politically charged' Federalist Society -- she testified that she had joined a liberal organization – the Democratic Progressive Voters League." This disturbs me, but not as bad as this:

(""Miers was also asked whether she considered 'the NAACP [to be] in the category of organizations' that she considered to be 'politically charged.' Her answer: “No, I don’t.”") Truly pathetic, madam.

It has also been discovered that in April 2005, Miers spoke to the Federalist Society chapter in D.C. and said “You [the Federalist Society] are an important ally on many issues, especially in our battles to ensure for our Nation a distinguished Federal judiciary, a judiciary the American people deserve.” How can I believe you? I just can't.

Not only does she have the support of Harry Reid (who did not approve John Roberts, a truly qualified man), she has ties to Hillary Clinton, and other Democrats. She acts just like a regular John Kerry, for and against everything. Harriet Miers is just a Democrat. She doesn't believe in 'original intent,' but she believes in herself and her party, not the founders of this country. If the President does not withdraw this nomination, American Conservatives must rally against him.

Mr. President, withdraw this nomination...

After doing a considerable amount of research, I've found a statement that Supreme Court nominee Harriet Miers gave in 1990 while she was an elected official in Dallas. Miers testified that she "wouldn't belong to the Federalist Society," or other "politically charged" groups because they "seem to color your view one way or another." Keep in mind this was after her supposed 'finding God' moment.

I consider her statement outrageous. As I've said before; this woman is not qualified, not only on the grounds of legal experience, but on the grounds of what our Founders wanted. In 1788, Alexander Hamilton wrote, "And it proves, in the last place, that liberty can have nothing to fear from the judiciary alone, but would have everything to fear from its union with either of the other departments." - Alexander Hamilton, Federalist No. 78.

Now it's personal: If Miers rejects Federalism, then she rejects Original Intent. Anyone who rejects the original intent of the law-makers has no place on the Federal bench. Mr. President, your lower judicial court nominees have been superb for the most part, but this is inexcusable. Send us another nominee.

Bush doesn't get it...

In an attempt to calm the G.O.P. over the nomination of Harriet Miers, Bush used his weekly radio address to say, "Harriet Miers will be the type of judge I said I would nominate: a good conservative judge."
What a waste of the bully pulpit. America doesn't need a conservative judge. America needs an originalist. Yes the two are very similar, but political philosophies do not belong on the bench. The Republican Party objects to Miers on the grounds of legal experience, and they're exactly right. Bush needs to take a lesson from Jefferson. Cancel this nomination, and nominate an originalist!

"The true key for the construction of everything doubtful in a law is the intention of the law-makers. This is most safely gathered from the words, but may be sought also in extraneous circumstances provided they do not contradict the express words of the law." - Thomas Jefferson, 1808

Thursday Rants...

Liberals Geena Davis and Donald Sutherland star in the new ABC drama, "Commander in Chief." Ever notice that every "presidential" actor or actress on television have been socialist nut-jobs? Barbara Streisand's husband starred in the Reagan series, Martin Sheen starred as a fictitious president in "The West Wing," and now this. I predict the show is going to bomb, terribly. It may stay on for at most a season. Americans are starting to hate politics. What angers me the most is what Donald Sutherland said on the BBC. President Bush "will destroy our lives!" Yeah right. I guess the execute branch is responsible for the morality of America, according to Sutherland. Isn't there some sort of contract that you represent ABC at all times? Whoopi Goldberg got fired from Slim Fast after she blasted Bush, why not Sutherland from ABC? If the media truly want to court Republicans they will produce quality shows with moral values, not just shows that portray America as an imperialist and morally reprehensive country. All of the sudden a woman comes and saves America from the evil philosophies of men? How romantic, but I don't buy it, and I won't watch it. Feminism died with Jackie Kennedy. Women from across the globe still try to portray her as a philosophical genius. Again, yeah right. Jackie Kennedy had an eye for fashion, but a brain for chickens. Geena Davis will not bring back feminism, or ugly women's easy access to the mainstream. The media needs to rethink their fall lineup.

Harriet, Friend or Foe?

"The dignity and stability of government in all its branches, the morals of the people, and every blessing of society depend so much upon an upright and skillful administration of justice, that the judicial power ought to be distinct from both the legislative and executive, and independent upon both, that so it may be a check upon both, and both should be checks upon that."
"Judges, therefore, should be always men of learning and experience in the laws, of exemplary morals, great patience, calmness, coolness, and attention. Their minds should not be distracted with jarring interests; they should not be dependent upon any man, or body of men."
- - John Adams, 1776

I have to oppose the nomination of Harriet Miers, based upon certain facts. How can she as a Justice provide a check against the execute branch of government that she worked for? The difference between Roberts and Miers, other than experience, is the separation or independence from government. Roberts worked for Reagan, not Bush. Experience matters as well, Miers is an incredible woman, but her independent judicial experience is limited.

I certainly hope the opinions I've expressed give no congressional support to vilify the nomination. She is a good woman, and deserves a fair hearing.

Tribute to a Hero...

Before he retired, Gen. Richard Myers was blasted by Arizona Sen. John McCain. McCain said, "Things have not gone as we had planned or expected nor as we were told by you, General Myers." One word, Bologna. John McCain should shut his mouth and save the campaigning for later. What kind of voter is Sen. McCain trying to court? Liberals? Bah. While you were courting liberals you lost my vote. I wouldn't vote for McCain if he was the only Republican candidate alive.

General Richard Myers is a hero. After 9/11 this man was called to do things that few men are. Under his leadership we effectively fought the Taliban, and we are effectively fighting Al Qaida in Iraq. If John McCain drew up the war plans, our footstep would be bigger than our bite. We would have suffocated the Iraqis, and they would have not taken responsibility as fast as they are now. John McCain, a "war hero," hasn't learned a damn thing about war. Even General George S. Patton disagreed with his superiors, but he never blasted them. General Myers is being replaced by Gen. Pace, another great man who makes John McCain look like a chicken.

The Federalist Solution...

I will be posting on my brothers blog very soon.
